Creating new parks and restoring old, we can put meaning back into public open spaces. The practice is experienced in seeking grant-funding, public consultation and working with artists, parks managers, historians and archaeologists.

LEECHWELL PARK, TOTNES, DEVON
Client : South Hams District Council
A new town park in the heart of medieval Totnes. The park is a collection of old walled gardens and will include terraced lawns, community orchard, play areas, sculpture garden, cafe and outdoor theatre: designed with full public consultation. Pre-tender estimate £2.0 million.

SWINHAY, GLOUCESTERSHIRE

New Mansion setting and gardens of contemporary and sustainable design; including 60 acre park & gardens, 3ha. of lakes, ground modelling, orchard and woodland rides: first phase planting and construction began winter 2001. A rural context and national planning constraints were overcome by high quality sensitive design and eloquent persuasion.

URBAN DESIGN

We work closely with architects and planners in the design of new town squares and associated street-scapes. From conceptual-design and site planning to hard landscape detailing, mature tree planting, water and public art; the goal is to promote fresh design appropriate to the setting, in conservation and new-build contexts.

After several years of public consultation - highway and paving improvements to Fore Street and High Street in Totnes, involving new traffic management, public art and detailed urban design proposals and their presentation at a two-day exhibtion and public consultation. At scheme design stage.

Urban renewal master-planning of neglected area of historic Totnes; leading to civic square detail design allied to new architecture.

The school environment is a teaching resource and crucial to the development of a child.
The practice is well-versed with the Learning through Landscapes initiative and believe that whether it is a school or a play area the environment should be stimulating in all dimensions for every body.

Competition win with sculptor Walter Jack, to design a bold, contemporary courtyard for the new Orthopaedic Centre, including consultation with staff and visitors. Completed summer 2000. To be formally opened by a member of The Royal family Nov 2001.
